The Seascape and Beyond Honours Scholarship in Mental Health Research – Suicide Prevention

Congratulations!

A one year Seascape and Beyond Honours Scholarship in Mental Health Research - Suicide Prevention has been awarded to Amy-Lee Seward.

This scholarship of $5,000 is a portion of the proceeds from the Seascape and Beyond art exhibition held 22–24 March 2013.

Amy is enrolled as a fourth year Honours student within the Faculty of Science and Information Technology at the University of Newcastle.

'This scholarship must develop practical applications of research findings in suicide prevention and management... findings are to be made available to the community, and the recipient must be prepared to follow up findings with media interviews and view their research as an ongoing body of work into mental health.'

Findings from this research should be published by October 2013.

The scholarship is in memory of Kavitha Collard, a 28 year old paediatric nurse who touched the hearts of many lives with her bright smile, gentle soul, warm and vibrant personality.
